Welcome to Paradise
Day 1: Nightflight with destination Maputo, the capital city of Mozambique (alternatively arrive at Johannesburg et connecting flight to Maputo) .
Day 2 : Arrival in Maputo . Visit this exiting city with its strange mixture of African and Portugese colonial influences. Even Gustave Eiffel has left his mark here! His Casa do Ferro will most certainly please the lovers of architecture and history . Dinner and night at the Polana Hotel.
Day 3 :
Excursion to the island of Inhanca most probably the first site in Mozambique where Vasco de Gama (1502) set foot on land. Visit of the old port and local market, bright colours everywhere, spicy smells and local crafts. Night at the Polana Hotel.
Day 4 : Charter flight towards the Bazaruto archipelago . Arrival in Vilanculos and transfer by boat towards the main island. Apart from bringing you from A to B the flight and cruise are activities on their own allowing you to discover this beautiful country. Dinner and Night at Marlin Lodge, Matemo or Dugong Beach Lodge
Day 5 :The five islands of the archipelago is one of Mozambique ’s most exclusive destinations. All around the islands is a barrier reef, which is home to more than 2000 species of fish as well as turtles, dugongs, dolphins and whales. . Dinner and Night at Marlin Lodge, Matemo Lodge or Dugong Beach Lodge.
Day 6 : Enjoy a Dhow cruise, this boat originated in the middle east and has spread across the Eastern coast of Africa or go riding on the beach on one of your hotels horses.. Dinner and night at Marlin Lodge, Matemo Lodge or Dugong Beach Lodge. Study the southern hemispheres unspoilt starlit skies assisted by a local astronomer.
Day 7 :
Go diving with one of the lodges dive masters, or simply enjoy snorkelling on the local reef, alternatively go sport fishing on your hotels game fishing charter boat. . Dinner and Night at Marlin Lodge, Matemo Lodge or Dugong Beach Lodge.
Day 8 : Departure for a 4x4 tour of the island. Picnic and relaxation on a deserted beach. Sundowners in the dunes before returning to the lodge for dinner. Dinner and night at Marlin Lodge, MatemoLodge or Dugong Beach Lodge.
Day 9 : Morning at Leisure. Check out and cruise back to Vilanculos. Sightseeing in town and final shopping in the market. Return flight to Johannesburg or Maputo at the end of the day.
